Reference Services in Academic Libraries:  Trends and Opportunities
 
In the midst of broader changes in higher education, scholarly communications,  and what some have termed the "Googlization of Everything,"  reference services in academic libraries have had to evolve rapidly in order to thrive.  Academic libraries have experimented with a variety of  new approaches to providing reference and research support services to students & scholars.  This presentation will describe some of the ways academic libraries in the U.S. have revitalized reference services with a focus on successful (and not so successful) approaches at the University of Illinois.
